The Day After..........

I am not one who normally talks about Politics .......   but I just have to say a few things.

Back in 2000 - during the Bush and Gore election, I voted for Gore.  Then the whole election craptasticness pissed me off to the point where I did NOT vote for the following two Presidential elections.  It made me feel like my vote didn't count.  Gore had more votes, but not more electoral votes, and I just felt so disheartened ....

I didn't vote in 2004 cuz I knew Bush was going to win again, and I knew my vote wouldn't matter.

I didn't vote in 2008 because I didn't like either of the candidates and even though I thought it would be amazing to be a part of the whole "First Black President" in office in my lifetime, I wasn't convinced he was the right guy for the job.

Let's be honest....  Bush Jr. left an unbelievable mess for the 43rd Prez to clean up.  You name it, it was craptastic.  Our country started out screwed up when Obama went into office in 2005.  And it's messed up to blame him for the way Bush Jr. left things.  It took 8 years for Bush Jr. to screw up this country .. you can't expect Obama to fix it in 1 or 2 years.   It'll probably take Obama and who ever comes AFTER Obama to fix it.  Seriously - let's put blame where it belongs.

Am I happy with everything Obama has done........ no......  but then again, we could blame Congress for that too.

But this year ...... I voted.   For the first time in 12 years ...... I voted.   YAY for voting.   And guess who I voted for!  It wasn't for "Oven Mitt" or "Romney Noodles" ...  or whatever I feel like calling him that particular moment....

Why?

The biggest thing - his 47% comment.  Being someone who is poor - especially when the situation is what it is.......  I don't take lightly when someone says they - basically - aren't the POOR PEOPLE's President .....

The Quote "There are 47 percent of the people who will vote for the president no matter what. All right, there are 47 percent who are with him, who are dependent upon government, who believe that they are victims, who believe the government has a responsibility to care for them, who believe that they are entitled to health care, to food, to housing, to you-name-it -- that that's an entitlement. And the government should give it to them. And they will vote for this president no matter what. ... These are people who pay no income tax. ... [M]y job is not to worry about those people. I'll never convince them they should take personal responsibility and care for their lives."

I (We) have paid taxes EVERY YEAR OF OUR LIVES .....  I don't feel entitled but I am GRATEFUL for any help we can get.  We aren't milking "welfare" ... we are in a bad situation and trying to figure a way out.  But to grouped in this comment because we are the the "Lower-Class" really irritated me.  And of course, OF COURSE, he's going to apologize and try to smooth things over, but the damage was already done.

So all I have to say is - that 47% kicked your butt Oven Mitt.  Maybe next time you decide to run for President - you should worry about EVERYONE, including us gutter rotting poor.

No matter who wins, people are going to be mad, and dramatic and sit there and cry in their morning cereal.   Everyone has things they are passionate about and that they stand firm on ....  and that's what makes us human and not Stepford Wives (or husbands?).

And then he attacked poor Big Bird.........
What did Big Bird ever do!?!?

THE QUOTE: "I'm going to stop the subsidy to PBS. I'm going to stop other things. I like PBS. I love Big Bird. I actually like you too, but I'm not going to spend money on things to borrow money from China to pay for."

PBS is a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization ... just like all the other nonprofit organizations, I'm sure they do all the fund raising they can (which we all know cuz we've all tuned in during their fund raising attempts.)  .... so if he's going to stop one nonprofit organization that actually helps our children learn ..... in a fun way ...... then what's next.

So ...... this says to me....  Romney Noodles is anti-poor and anti-education.   Big Bird agrees ...

Oh and I know - there are going to be some (lots) that don't like my comments and want to set me straight ......  but remember, I don't like politics, so I don't care.   You'd be wasting your breath.

But I am sorry some of my friends aren't happy.  I'm sorry that they feel let down and disillusioned like I did way back when.

In other news .......  Washington State had a big night.   First off.........  the right for Gay's to marry was APPROVED!  YAY!!!!

I am - obviously straight and married to a man - however, I fully believe that everyone has the right to have the right to marry who they love.  And there is a huge gay community in Seattle that was dancing in the streets last night (literally) .....

And then there is the whole ....... Pot .............. Thing.

I'm not a fan.  Just not.  I think it's ridiculous that this was passed.  "We can tax it" .... yeah but what about the increase of people who are high out there driving - more DWI's and more people getting killed on the streets (course this is my opinion.)   There is a ton of chatter on facebook this morning - people talking about how they are so excited to have had this passed and planning all sorts of ..... medicinal baking.   Although I find it amusing, I don't agree with it.

I have a neighbor who smokes it around her kids.  And it pisses me off.  I don't care if she has a medical need where she gets it through her doctor or not, she shouldn't be doing it where her kids - or others - can get high off the second hand smoke.... it's not right.  People can argue it's natural and it's an herb - and to that - I could say - so is Oleander .....  bake that in some brownies and see how you feel after.   Or how about some Nightshade.  It's natural...  I bet it'll make you feel real good!

Just because something is out there, growing and untouched by man, doesn't make it okay to consume.

Course........ again...  that's just my close minded opinion.

A friend of mine posted this on my facebook last night with the caption ........

"I heard ya'll had a new restaurant in town!"

Colorado also passed this ........  so now all the pot heads will be rushing to Washington or Colorado.  Prepare for population increases in those two states.  People are packing up as we speak. (er....  read).

So again ....... Congratulations President Obama ....  I hope that you continue to make moves to fix our country and I hope that you see where you can make more improvements to help our country become better.

And for those of you who aren't happy with the results ...... of the Presidential election or even your local ones....  just remember .....

10 months of Nathan....

My lil Nathan turned 10 months old yesterday... it's hard to believe it. He'll be One in 2 short months. We'll be celebrating it in Wisconsin Dells - which should be very fun!! The boys are all excited! We're going with some friends... so it should be a bunch of fun ...

Yesterday he did a little something new.... he sat on his own for a couple moments, and then prop'd up for a couple minutes, and with me giving him slight support behind him for about 5 minutes. He has been trying to make the transition from crawling to sitting but it's hard to do that when you can't sit. LOL...

And looooooooooookie his little toofers!?!!?? Can you see the two of them there, and I think he's getting his third tooth too but it hasn't pop'd through yet...
Well lets not forget about the rest of the family.... I over heard Calahan say "I can sing this song better then Dennis" yesterday. Well it's funny cuz they have that Rock Band game where they can actually have a compition.. lol.. here is a picture of Dennis and Calahan helping out Noah.. lol... Anyway .... Calahan DID beat Dennis by FAR the first round on the song he claimed he could sing better, then they did it one more time, and Dennis won.... then they did a couple other songs.... and as the score stands right now.... it's Dennis - 3 ... Calahan - 2 ..... but we realized last night, Calahan has a good voice, and with some training... who knows.

Well in politics (which I actually hate btw) .... Obama won in WI and so did McCain... did I go out and vote, no ... why? because I don't know who I like. The one person I did like, dropped out of the race, so I've been lost since then. Dennis really likes Obama (he's from IL originally) and he did go and vote for him. I saw some of Huckabee's speech air'd live on local TV while he was in our town and I liked what he had to say... there are some things I don't agree with though .... so I donno. I actually made a joke saying "do we really want a Pres with the last name Huckabee?" .. who knows what will happen I guess. Our city was a little bitter at Clinton because she canceled her local speech because of "time conflicts" and so it really left a bitter taste in the city's mouth. Whooooooooooo knows........ I will be voting when it comes time to do so this November... I just need to know I'm voting for the *right* person...
And on the LAST note of this morning........ Reality TV...... American Idol and Big Brother....
Let's start with American Idol... last night was the guys half of the first round of voting... there are some definite favorites... but my question is this.... what are your thoughts on the fact that several of the people on the show have been signed to contracts before? Part of me think it's unfair.... part of me think they didn't they obviously didn't make it for whatever reason the first time and continue their fight.... but it makes ya wonder. Ya know?
Big Brother........ this show is just messed up! Let me tell you!! Well actually I'm not going to tell you. I am just amazed how messed up this show is.. LOL... I think it is very unfair that they didn't put Jen and Ryan together... and the "Lesbian Alliance!?!" coooooome on, I can't believe they are falling for that!! Allison is such a b.......... (sorry I just don't like her) and her walking around going "Ryan is such a great guy, he is totally the guy I would go for" and blah blah... she's going to try to break up him and Jen, mark my word, if they (Allison and Ryan) continue on the show. It's messed up... Josh is a ticking time bomb I think. There was a HUGE fight that broke out on After Dark a couple nights ago... I'm waiting to see how much of that makes it on the show.... and everyone in the house really dislikes Amanda now... it's just messed up. M E S S E D U P ! ! ! ... lol...
Anyway - gotta go rush get Noah ready for school and out the door! LOL
