Excuse Me While I Sleep ...

It was a long long night.  We didn't get home until after 10pm last night.  I was trying to write up my blog for yesterday and get it done, and ..... well.....

I don't remember what I watched last night, I don't remember anything ...  I just know that as
I however, at this point - started to fall asleep.  I was sitting up in bed with my laptop on my lap, sleeping.  At some point, DB got up, he took my laptop away from me, he was covering me up..  there aren't very many moments like this, that I can remember of him being so sweet and so amazing. But I know they are always there because he is sweet and amazing soooooo much.

I do have memories of coming "to" in the middle of the night, and him stroking my face or my hair ... and calling me beautiful.  And let me tell you how healing and amazing and how that makes my heart soar when I have felt nothing but ugly and unattractive for as long as I can remember.  I can look back now, with some confidence, and know I never was ...  but that's how I felt.

We slept in so late this morning.  And then we ended up sleeping MORE during the day.  DB and I were both just so wiped.  And I guess I had a seizure this morning, so that's no fun.

But it's inching up on Midnight ... and for once, I'm going to try and go to sleep.  Goodnight world...

DB: (punches the bed with his finger) "my iPhone...."
I turn over "what?"
DB: "my notes were....I can't find my notes. Your are just going to have to wait until tomorrow to read them...if you want."
Me: seriously lost, blinking wildly.....
I have no idea what just happened.

I am one tired Momma .....

This is going on .....  he looks like he's in pain ...

I woke up at almost 11am....  pricked my finger and found ...  not so good, but BUT wayyy better than the sometimes 500 that I see :/  or did see a lot - in the past....

This hair slays me.  SLAYS me ...  Headphone hair.  He looks like a tiny pineapple.......   wait.

I like BIG POPSICLES and I cannot lie!  So a lot of Nathan's fluid intake can come from popsicles so we really try to keep them stalked up.

While I was working (or not working as the case may be) I watched this new Hallmark Movie.  Walking The Dog.  It was really cute.  About two lawyers who end up being on opposing ends coming together in the end.

Meanwhile Livvy wanted to just hang out on me.

Cal wanted to earn some money so he cleaned the garage.

Funny story, Nana & Papa's cat - Callie Joe - is the house ruler.  She rules the dogs, she rules everything.  She's not afraid of no one.  So she comes out of Nana & Papa's room and Alyvia comes over to my side of the bed, stands up with her feet on the bed, back feet on the floor, stretches all the way out and perks up.... watching Callie Joe from the safety of Mom's side.

The Grammy's were on tonight.  Some of it was great - some not so much.  I do love James!

This cat though .... every night she comes and gets between me and my laptop to the point where I can't see my screen.  LOL....

It All Started With A Nightmare....

So I'm working on blogs and just got to my wall.  Only have two left and now today's .... but I just couldn't anymore. So I started watching FINDING MY ROOTS ...  Love this show.  Turns out I'm related to one of them, they are related to all the British Royalty that I am....  (that, btw, is my awesome background on my laptop) ....

3:15 AM ........ Kaedyn whispers....
Kaedyn:  Mom?
Me:  Yeah?
Kaedyn: I just had a nightmare.....
Me: Do you want to talk about it?

I paused the TV.  There was a bit of a pause .... I thought he fell back to sleep.

Kaedyn:  There was a snake.....  and it was walking...
Me:  There was a snake?
Kaedyn:  Yeah, and it was walking.
Me:  Did it have feet?
Kaedyn:  No...
Me:  So it was slithering ....
Keadyn:  Yeah, and I had to catch it....and the tongue got on me.
Me: So it licked you?
Kaedyn: Yeah.  And I had to get it away.
Me;  Why did you have to catch it?
Kaedyn: I just thought........ I was home.
Me: Home?
Kaedyn:  Yeah
Me:  So you thought you had to get it away from your family?
Kaedyn: Yeah   (after a bit of a pause, he lifts up his left arm and points to about the middle of his arm between his elbow and wrist.)  It got right here!
Me:  You were in your bed? It licked you right there?
Kaedyn:  Yeah, right there.  And we were outside somewhere.

It must have been pretty vivid.

Went from watching that to LIVE PD....  even DB woke up and was getting into it.

I didn't go to sleep.  It just didn't happen.  I was worried and trying to figure out some answers for Nathan.

He ended up waking up around 4:30 AM ... I started asking him a bunch of questions.  I started some fluids around 5 AM...

Kaedyn woke up too .... .

I finally went to sleep around 7AM and DB woke me up around 9:30 AM after he got off the phone with the clinic, who basically told him that after my taking him in last week for the same thing we needed to just take him into Seattle ....  so we started to pack up and prepare JUST IN CASE ... figuring that if we were prepared, we wouldn't have to stay ....  Murphy's Law ...

We had to stop at WalMart before leaving town, and we got Subway to eat on the way there and for the way back if we didn't stay.  Nathan got his typical sandwich only he didn't want pickles and he wanted tomatoes.  This is the first time he's asked for tomatoes...  and he loved it!

We are goofy ....

On the road.....

2 1/2 hours of sleep - and I still didn't sleep on the way there....

Nathan looking out the window at the water ....  he was telling me he loves the water....  we can never move.... ever.... and then the funny faces started

Seattle

Tunnels in Seattle....

We love the little solar garden at Seattle Children's ....

At the ER....

The back of one of the little kid chairs...

I got some WONDERFUL photos of him in the waiting room....

Once we got in the back, we were talking to the doctor.  We watched two Justice League Lego Movies, which Nathan did NOT want to watch, but he loved.  He was very nauseated.  They did an x-ray to make sure that he wasn't backed up (he wasn't.) But funny story, his shirt (glow in the dark Triceratops PJ shirt) showed up on X-Ray....   They did some blood work (tough moment.  They were going to do an IV of fluids, but his IV blew when they did the blood draw too) ...  we were there for a long time.  Yet again I got complimented on doing some trouble shooting at home and being in touch with his symptoms, etc.  Poor DB was falling asleep while the doc was chatting with us.  All in all, they decided to test run a feed, which he did well during.  He got a nausea pill and could finally ditch the puke bag for a bit.  Then when they started the feed his nausea came back but at least he did not throw up. They got him in for a GI appointment ASAP ...  so as soon as they can squeeze us in, and know when, they are going to call me.  We were asked to continue to trouble shoot at home.  They put him on a tummy med.... and gave us nausea pills...

Kaedyn called me at one point.  I talked to him a little bit, updated Cal on what was going on.  Then I sat by Nathan and turned it so he could see the camera and he burst into tears.  "I miss Bubba" he said...

Eventually there wasn't anymore movies that I thought he'd go for so we went into his tablet world, which was good because he would end up needing it anyway due to the IV/blood draw....

I got two new notebooks while we were at Walmart earlier and I love the covers...

Seattle at night....  on our way out of town.

So I figured I'd get some work done while going down the road.  Let me tell you ... blogging on the road is pretty awesome!!

I was tired and a bit delusional when we got home.....

#OneTiredMomma ....  for sure.

We gave Nathan another bag of Pedialyte tonight ....  figured we'd go from there after that...

Catch Up!!

I am spending the early hours this morning watching Dead Files Revisted and working on finishing up by blogs I'm behind on.  YAY! (6 counting today's which I haven't started yet) .... I am absolutely determined to get caught up because I just want to be CAUGHT UP ....

I'm super tired this morning, but I am going to GET THIS DONE.  Or try my damndest to .... I'm going to stay awake all day, no matter the pain I'm in and how much it wears me out, and I'm going to sleep tonight.  Best laid plans, I know....

Today was deep cleaning day though - so maybe the blogs won't get done.  Kaedyn and Nathan's mattresses need to get up-ended and cleaned out the underside of them, vacuumed, cleaned, everything...  Luckily with my back pain, I got to dictate...

Guess what!?!?  If you guessed it's raining again!  Ding ding ding, you win ...  well nothing but pride.

Me (from behind my head) working on the computer - watching Dead Files Revisited, watching Cal watch Dead Files Revisited...

DB asked if I wanted to go with to get Nathan.  I said sure, figured I would get out of the house, so I hobbled downstairs.  Got in the van with Jaxson.... we tried to take Ely Mae but she didn't want to go ...  Mom was home, otherwise I think she would have.

We picked up Nathan, who had swimming today, and Bubba from school..  I hobbled into the school to get them, and into the Inclusion Room to see if they knew anything about Nathan getting a name list for his Valentine's ...  long story short, Nathan's teacher ended up bringing me down the list (bad back, I can't go up stairs anymore than I have to.) while Nathan and Kaedyn ran upstairs to go get the list from her.  Oopsies! LOL...

But I got his list!  Plan is to do Valentine's tomorrow - woohooo great fun!  Plus going to make Valentine's boxes here at home again - just for fun....

The boys got a treat though, today - we had found these fun suckers that rotate that we thought they might like...  got them yesterday and made them wait until today to get them.  Well, actually tortured Kaedyn with it, Nathan didn't know until it was handed to him.

Kaedyn played with his Shopkins today, he had them all lined up like this......

And OMG ..... DB made homemade (from scratch) potato salad tonight and it was soooooooo sooooooooooooo goooooooood.

Master Chef Juniors tonight, Bubba and I were going to  - during the preview of the season, I had to stop and back up because I - at first - really thought that was Will Ferrell but I was cracking up laughing.  OMG.  I can't wait.  Swedish Chef!  Hell Yes!!!!!!   (I know, that's his OTHER show)

(Posted this tonight on FB)

Nathan isn't doing well at all right now, and we're not sure what to do at this point. I'm going to run down some stuff so that maybe you can possibly help me.

My son got a G-Tube (Mic-Key button) at the age of 7... he was a little old to be placed with one, but that was mostly my fault since I had been fighting against it for years. Nathan can eat by mouth, and I worked so hard to get him off the NG tube and to 1: bottle feed and then 2: solid feed, but he has never been able to gain weight and has always been sick.

We finally decided to get the G-Tube in hopes to mainly solve his lack of immune system and hope to maybe get him gaining weight finally.

His tube was placed June 24, 2014 (I remember well because June 25th is my birthday and I got to spend it in the hospital. The following year I got to spend Mother's Day in there too while he was in the PICU and dying from severe sepsis, luckily we pulled through.)

So Nathan eats and drinks by mouth, like I have said, and at night he gets a supplement of 3 boxes of 1.5 boost boxes along with miralax, and he gets his meds via his G-Tube also.

Nathan has never not tolerated his feeds - there are nights where he has a hard time and wakes up, throwing up, and we stop the feeds and focus on listening to him and what he tells us and restart when he's ready (usually the next night).

For the last month or so, we've been dealing with a lot of tummy troubles. Crying from stomach aches. We know that if his tummy is already upset, he won't tolerate the feed and throwing up is worse for him than missing a feed, so we usually listen to him and don't give him feeds if his stomach is upset.

However, this has been going on for a long time now. We have lowered his rate of feed, we have treated him for possibly being backed up and/or constipated, gave him a suppository last week but that wasn't the case (this was his pediatrician's idea) ... He was not backed up that much if he was at all, because it didn't seem like it.

So he tolerated two feeds last weekend (suppository was the Thursday before during the day.) ... he's been complaining about his belly hurting again, almost every night. I don't know what to think, but I really don't think it's his bowels. He is pooping every day. He is eating and drinking orally - but probably not as much. He seems to pick at his food a lot more. Drinking doesn't seem to be a problem.

Every night he starts complaining about his belly hurting, we manage to get his meds in without any throwing up. But when we try for the feeds, he wakes up from a sleep and throws up - almost - every- time.

I'm trying to decide what my next step should be. If I should just try to decrease it more, take him into this regular pediatrician or to contact the children's hospital and someone on his team there.

I saw this tonight and it just drove me bananas ....  not even kidding.  And then I realized that it was - indeed - on a fake news site.  But still....

Their opinion on how the cartoon turns your child Autistic....  my additions and recommendations in blue.

Don't have a toddler - period, or Teenager....  OR HUSBAND ....  or be around people in general as these are all very common things.  LOLOLOL

Kinda made me laugh.  Kinda...  after I was done being generally irritated ....

This came up in my "Memories" ....   It's a little story I wrote about Noah just after his 13th birthday.

Once upon a time, there was a wizard who cast a spell on a young Princess. She had one little Prince and wished for another child to fill her womb, but instead, as soon as it started the process of being filled, her body would wash it again. Over and over again.... and then it didn't. But the Princess didn't know that this wizard has cast a spell on her that would cause her baby to die.
The Princess got the news and was utterly heartbroken. She begged and pleaded with the higher powers to save her baby.
Then suddenly, an Angel showed up casting a light around her and her growing belly.
The Angel said "He won't be like any other child, he will be special. If you hold out hope until the very end, he will beat this spell cast upon him. He will show that wizard the true nature of a mother's love. And he will be perfect in his own way."
And she vanished.
The new young Prince was born so tiny people doubted he would survive, but the young Princess just smiled and watched him grow.
The younger Prince was visited by many medicine men and all gave doubtful news. But the young Princess just smiled and did what needed to be done for her young Prince's health.
And when the two Princes lost their father .... a Knight came along and swept them all off their feet. They became the best family for each other. And the young Prince thrived in ways no one thought he would, but his hopeful family.
And on the young Prince's 13th anniversary of his birth, he stood up and shouted the joys of breaking through the doubt and shining bright as the boy he was. The Boy Who Lived.
