AN OLD PHOTO OF A FAMILY MEMBER
These are my Great, Great, Great, Great Grandparents ... Christian and Johanna Gessner, this is from my Mom's mom's side ... This is the oldest photo of ancestors I have .... I have several photos of my Great Grandparents on my Mom's Mom's side (so my Grandma's parents)
This is my Great Grandpa Dana and his sister Beth
This is my Great Grandmother with my Grandmother's older sister Beverly who had birth injuries and then had medical issues/mental disabilities her whole life. It was said that the forceps were used during the birth, and ended up doing damage to her brain.
This is my Grandmother (5-5-22 is her birth date not the day that was taken) ... that label, that is my Grandmother's handwriting ..... she labeled the photo of herself ...
This is my Grandmother with her older sister (Beverly) and her younger brother (Jesse)
This is my Grandfather Larry (Lawrence) ... he had a big of a story well before his own very first memory. Back in my Great-Grandparents time... there was this little old thing called Tuberculosis, you might have heard about it .... My Grandfather's parents had both contracted it before his birth. My Great-Grandfather had been married and divorced, and had a daughter ... for whatever reason, that marriage didn't last and they ended up in California and I don't know why or what happened. But then William (Great-Grandfather) had met Olga (Great-Grandmother) ... they had their first child, Irene (born in 1919) and I think between the birth of Irene and the pregnancy of my Grandfather they both had contracted Tuberculosis .... so they made arrangements. Irene went to go live with a member of the family, and right after my Grandfather was born (in 1921), he went to my Great-Grandfather's sister and was adopted by her and her husband. He ended up being their only child so I suspect there were some issues with her being able to have children.... Two months after my Grandfather was born, my Great-Grandfather (his Dad) died.... We had originally been told that he had died before the birth, but it was after. So William died in Sept. 1921 (my Grandfather was born in July 1921) and then Olga had gotten married again, and died Nov. 1924.... the year my Grandfather had turned 3.
And these were my Grandparents on their wedding day ....
Beyond these ....... I can trace my Grandmother Berneil's side (confirmed) back to Rollo the Viking ... to William the Conqueror who was also a King of England (and the generations between them) ... to Kings Henry I, II & III, Kings Edward I, II & III ... which is pretty freaking cool and definitely the furthest back I can go (but there are a few other lines I haven't gone back with) .... AND ... with Dennis ... I can trace his ancestors back to nobility also, but I have to totally double check things with his line because I get two different things... so I gotta confirm and re-confirm - but the way it looks, my ancestors REALLY loved to kill his ancestors ...
BUT I can - confirmed - trace his back to a woman who was accused, tried and hung as a Salem Witch.
WHAT IS HOLDING YOU BACK?
I don't consider myself being "held back" .....
I look forward to what life will hopefully look like in a few years ...
