JULY BLOG PROMPTS in one spot...

So the month of July I worked on blogging prompts to get back into the habit of blogging.

Here they are, I did two a day, one from each of these lists....

JULY 31st : Celebration & The Book You're Currently Reading

CELEBRATION ....

In just a few short days .......... lil' Miss Elly is gonna be turning the big THREE YEARS OLD....

Miss Elly - Birth to 1 years old

Miss Elly - 1 years old to 2 years old

Miss Elly - 2 Years Old to 3 Years Old

I have been so blessed to have been in this little girls life, loving her, from the moment she was created.  When I mean blessed, I truly mean blessed.  She is my "Belly" and I'm her "Nonna"

There was a day - when I looked at Shila and was like .... "you're pregnant" ....  a few days later, confirmation happened...  then the first look at baby sprout .... that was her first nickname...  and then the whole pregnancy...  the day we found out she was a she ......  I mean, my heart burst ...  I never got a baby girl, but I was definitely going to love and adore and spoil her for the rest of her life.  I wasn't the first, or the second person to hold her, but I was the third.  I was there at the hospital every day - all day - helping in whatever way I could.  I even spent the night one night... where I practically held her all night ...

Elly isn't my blood, Kale and Shila are my adopted children ... we took them in when no one else would.  Along with them, I became a grandma to little Clairah.  I adore Clairah .... but I don't have the same connection with Clairah that I do with Elly.  '

The first time we met Clairah, she was 18 months old and all she wanted was her Momma, which was 100% to be expected.  It took a lot of time for her to be comfortable around DB and I ...  and the boys.  But eventually she learned we weren't going to hurt her and only loved her.  Clairah has the typical behavior when she's here (with Shila) ...  she wants Shila's attention and when she feels like Elly is threatening that, she tends to try to get Elly into trouble so that Mommy will be mad at Elly and she'll give more attention to Clairah.  Claire is now five and she's so smart and amazing.  She's going to be starting school this fall.  Shila does't get to see her as much as she would like to.  It is what it is though.

However, I have spent almost every day with Elly.  I did spend every day of her first year ... and then things happened, they went south to stay with Kale's dad for about 6 months, I saw her once or twice during that time, which was heartbreaking for me.  But we webcam'ed  ...  Shila would message me and tell me Elly wanted to talk to me...  really I think she wanted to talk to Kaedyn, LOL ....  Elly and Kaedyn have always had a super special bond.  He's called Elly his wife since she came home from the hospital.  Lately he goes "Wifey!" and she'll say "Hubby!" lol ....

He has definitely loved her very much....  they have a special and unique bond too...

Time has flown and Elly has proven to be such a smart amazing girl....  she's lucky enough to have two sets of parents.  Her Daddy and Momma Brook.  And Mommy and Daddy Cal (or Joey) ...

THE BOOK YOU'RE CURRENTLY READING......

.....  and I am ashamed to say that I have been working on finishing this book for over a year.  I just haven't had a whole lot of time to read, like I haven't had much time to blog....

.............. or more rightfully - haven't MADE the time for either....   but that's all gonna change....

JULY 30th : How You Felt Today & The Best Idea You've Had This Week?

Happy MONDAY!!!!!!!!

Okay before I get into the blog prompts for today, I am going to make a blog post later (today, tomorrow?) .... about life stuff....

....... oh that damn life stuff.....

Okay, so I woke up this morning.... wait I should start with the fact that I went to sleep last night/this morning ....  EARLIER ... than normal.  SHOCKER.  I don't remember if it was 12:30am or 1:30am ... but it was around there.  I woke up at about 10am...  so I got about ...8 hours of sleep at least.  WOW!  That's pretty unheard of for me lately.

So I get up, and .....  I notice ....  my laptop is not where I had it, it's on the floor.  OMG... whatever.  Cat probably knocked it down.  So I ask DB to hand me the blood pressure cuff.  I did my blood pressure, I took my temp (for shits & giggles) and I checked my blood sugar.  Yes, yes I did.  I knocked over my coffee cup full of my pretty pens I use to do my journaling in my calendar ...

So I've been taking my blood pressure a lot lately, for good reason.  I have high blood pressure, yes.  I am on meds for it.  But something else is going on - that is super weird.  Laying down, relaxing, my blood pressure is normal or high (mostly cuz of pain) ... but when I stand up, every damn time I've done this....  if I stand up, my blood pressure drops, and my pulse goes up.  It's weird and I'll talk more about it in my random July blog.

HOW YOU FELT TODAY .......

It's been a bit of a rough day - to be honest about it ....

I'll get into more of the medical things in another entry for the month ...  but ....  I just haven't been feeling good all day...  yesterday was better, but today has been hard.  My head is hurting badly, my right hand is in a lot of pain, just over all my joints and muscles are all screaming.  I've been in bed all day, working on this and that ...  and my kids came to hang out with me today.   It's just been a rough day.

DB and I got out for a little bit today.  He took me to a few pokestops and I got out and sat in the gazebo for a spell ...  it was nice.

But the pain level has been rough.

THE BEST IDEA YOU'VE HAD THIS WEEK.....

Whatever clicked for me ....  that allowed me to almost bang out the whole of chapter 8 in one day ...  (yesterday) .... because I like it ....  so YAY!!! ...

JULY 29th : I Wish ... & How Do You Spend Time Resting?

I WISH............

HOW DO YOU SPEND TIME RESTING?

Okay so ...... I am in bed a lot.  The pain I'm in A.L.W.A.Y.S is harsh.  The same goes for the level of pain my husband is constantly in.  I have been in this horrible flare since the summer of 2013.  Yep, that's right .... FIVE YEARS OF CONSTANTLY IN PAIN ... not even joking, I wish I were... wow... five years...

Anyway - I'm in bed a lot.  I have come to realize the less I move the more I'm able to tolerate life.  So when I'm "resting" I am usually working ....  So I'm writing, I'm editing photos, I'm writing more, I'm usually busy ...

If I'm truly resting, it's tv, reading and/or playing on my phone...  stupid games that mean nothing... LOL ...

Mostly - I love just cuddles with my kids, my grandkids, my hubby ....

That's about it.  It's pretty simple in the answer...

If I had to put a picture to my idea of resting (and relaxing) ....

Yep - those sum it up.....  💚💜💛💙

JULY 28th : Someone/Something You Love & What Are You Offering The World

SOMEONE/SOMETHING YOU LOVE ....

It is something .... to be able to love one-self....   right?

Of course there are things about myself I'm not happy with ..... like my weight, I would love to not be overweight, even though I'm not *THAT* overweight, I have been a "big girl" all my life it seems.  I remember my uncles teasing me when I was little .....  "fatty fatty two by four, can't fit through the kitchen door" and stuff like that.   By no means was I a fat child.....

I don't even think I was a "fat" teen ...

But I have FELT fat for as long as I can remember....  at one point, I did start to gain weight, and now that I have confided in my mom the fact I was sexually assaulted as a child - my mom thinks that I had started to gain weight and become more "pudgy" around that same time.  She said (when I finally confided in her) that it "all makes sense now" ....  I never knew why we made the move we did, and it was right in the middle of my being molested, but my mom had told me - when I confided in her - that she knew (mother's instinct) that something was going on and that she had to "get me out of there" ... being my grandparent's house.   Little did she know that the danger was actually IN the house at the time, and that even though we moved, I was still subjected to it....   no, it wasn't my grandfather, or any of my Mom's brothers...  no direct blood relation to me.  Besides my Mom, no one in my family knows, and it'll probably forever be kept that way.  And that's A-O-K with me...

So I have, since I was very young, been very self conscious .... and once you are self-conscious and you see yourself as "fat" (even when you aren't) .... it's hard to dig yourself out of that hole, especially when you are an immature kid who is very shy and internalizes everything ....

Now, with the help of my husband (he probably doesn't even know how much he's helped me in that department) ... but he is the only man who has ever called me "beautiful" and I believed him.  Like, it's nice to hear "you're pretty" or whatever, but I'd blow it off ...  my husband, though, after hearing it so long, being aware when he's said it while he thought I was sleeping (which I was, but I was aware enough to hear him and remember it) ... that I actually realized he meant it.

But I do have self worth now, and I do love myself.  I am have accepted the fact that I am not the "perfect" weight and likely will never be the "perfect" weight .... but I am okay with being fat or skinny or whatever ...   I am a very kind person, I am loyal, I have two modes - either I'm super chatty or super shy, both of them are because I'm nervous ...  I am a really good photographer, and I'm a really good writer ....   and I learn something every day and I really enjoy learning ...  and I find it very amusing that I am called my husband's daughter instead of people thinking I'm his wife, and as much as I find it amusing ... he finds ZERO humor in it ... LOL .....

So ........  growing up, I found the love of reading.  I always has books by me, with me, in my hands, whatever....  I took pride in and loved my books.

To this day, I still do ....

So losing my books, it's kinda traumatic .... I had several collections of a few authors where I had the full collection, I had some signed books, and some books I'll never be able to replace - like the one my grandmother gave me, and the really rare copy I had ....

So I get really giddy and excited to be - at least - restoring the most important collection to me, and that is that of my favorite author...  Nora Roberts .... and her books under the pen name of J.D. Robb also ....  I have been reading her books for over 20 years now....  I was 16, I think, when I started to read her books and grow out of the teen novels I read (Christopher Pike, Lurlene McDaniels...)  I was reading V.C. Andrews since I was 13 or 14 ....  and about 16 when I read my first Nora Roberts (Charmed) and then I've been devouring everything she's written in her career since then ...   Except for the novellas - which I didn't have ALL of - I had all her books but ONE (including some of the rarer Language of Love covers) ....  to date, right now.... she has 244 stories (that I know of) ... and those are both her Nora Roberts books, her J.D. Robb books, and the novellas written under both names.....    so out of 244 books I currently have 163.  So I'm over half way there of restoring that collections, and I will restore it - and as quick as possible....  cuz not having this collection makes me extremely stabby.  (I'll talk about other collections later - after you scroll past the pictures...)

So Nora has a few different types of collections....  she has stand alone books, she has series of two or more books ... most are trilogies...  the entire J.D. Robb books is one HUGE HUGGEEEE series.  It's 47 books long, that's pretty fucking big....  if you count the novellas it's 57 stories long .... when I count the novellas - which are shorter stories in a combined book of other authors (usually two other authors) ...  I say "stories" instead of "books" .....   so .... out of 73 of the stand along books, I have 49 ....  out of 103 of the series books, I have 89 of them.... you get the picture.

73=49 (non-series books)
11=8 (novella mini-stories)
103=89 (series books)
29 = 20 (completed series)
47=17 (J.D.Robb books)
10=0 (J.D. Novellas)
Totals: 223=155 (books)
21=8 (novellas)
244=163 (stories all together)

This is my "to read" shelf of the more recent things....  there are some J.D. Robb books I need to get in order to read those because I'm missing couple with in those ....  I have been reading the SAME BOOK for over a year, this has never happened in my life, but I haven't had or been making a lot of time to read, and I need to ... but I'm still reading book one (Stars of Fortune) of the Guardians Trilogy ...  the two other books to the series are the Bay of Sighs there and the Island of Glass.   The One is the first book to her newest series, Come Sundown and Shelter in Place ...

Stand Alone Shelf .....

Stand Alone Shelf .....

Stand Alone Shelf .....

Series ....

Series ....

Series ....

Series ....

J.D. Robb books that I have read (I don't have a lot of these yet) ...

These are the Stand Alone - Re-Issues ...  a lot of her early work are released as - usually - two books in a combined themed title ....  which makes all of us fans go "oooooooooohhhh" but then we realize they aren't new.  Nora has no control over these books, they are under another publisher then the one she has now, and that publisher re-issues the older books and re-issues them again and again.... which is great for me, cuz I'm rebuilding my collection ... LOL ....  (and I see one book missing from the pic below, yeah - wth is that book?) ....

So .....  I lost the VC Andrews collection I has, and I had all the original covers, but I'm not real sad about losing those because once the ghost writer(s) ran out of her plots, the writing changed drastically ....  wasn't as disturbing.... bawahhahahahahahaha

I lost my Twilight books - easy to replace and I will .....

I lost my Harry Potter books - easy to replace, AND I WILL dammit .... BUT ... I had a few fan things that I probably won't be able to replace... (sad panda) ...

I had a Debbie Macomber collection too .... which she is a local author - woohoooo ... easy enough to replace, also ....  I'm not sure I will though ....

Oh I also had the Hunger Games books .... Anne of Green Gables series (that my Grandmother gave me) ....

a few other things...  but yeah .....

WHAT ARE YOU OFFERING THE WORLD ....

What do I have to offer the world..........  not much.  I'm just one un-important person, a mother who has two children that have really rare genetic disorders ... so I advocate and I tell their story....because their stories are IMPORTANT ...  I am their voice, their cheerleader, their support ...

Honestly, I was watching Gordon Ramsay's 24 Hours to Hell and Back tonight - and in the newest episode ...  at the end, Gordon is taking photos with some of the customer of the restaurant - and there is a guy with Downs, at least I think it's Downs ... and it made me cry to see him so happy to be getting this picture of him and Gordon and the other man he was with (a friend, family, I'm not sure) ...  but Gordon gets the photo and hands it to the guy with Downs, and he was so excited and he threw his arms around Gordon un-apologetically - just with such enthusiasm and excitement.... he threw his arms around him and said "I love you" ...  and I teared up....  stuff like that makes everything inside me so happy ....  because, it might not be the same Trisomy, I am a Trisomy parent also and that just....   makes me so happy ....

Beyond my love for my kids, and my words - in whatever format ....  :::shrugs::: I am just an unimportant person ...

JULY 27th : A View From Today & How Have You Grown In The Past Month

A VIEW FROM TODAY ......

This is my view .... everyday ....  this is the view we have from our patio ...

Something new I discovered, I guess I have never been on this side of the downtown theater before, and I have never seen this before....  pretty epic ....

From the same spot I saw the above photo ....   is the same spot for the below photo ...  LOL

HOW HAVE YOU GROWN IN THE PAST MONTH .....

Hummmmmm ....  I'm not sure.  I've lost about ten pounds....   that's not growth, that's lost (snickers) .... ah .... I think in the last month we have realized that we have a good business idea.  Just gotta start putting some ducks in a row for that.  I've been writing again :::whew::: and that feels amazing after that little bit of a writers block stint....    I guess in the biggest way, the growth is in that I have started to blog again .... :::big smile::::    SO YAY!!!

JULY 26th : I'm Excited For ... & Three Things You Want To Change In Your Life

I'M EXCITED FOR .....

My husband is in his last year of school.  I am EXCITED for him to finish, find an amazing job in his field .... and us not having to worry about how we are going to pay this, or pay that - or what we need to cover first, and hope we MIGHT have a way to pay the other later in the month .... OR having to worry about where our next meal is going to come from ...  how we're going to get things we need, and yeah - maybe get a few things we WANT .... but right now, we're pinching, we're struggling and we're making the best out of it all, or at least we are TRYING to ...

THREE THINGS YOU WANT TO CHANGE IN YOUR LIFE .....

1;  Financial Situation .... for reasons I already said....

2; Living situation - my DREAM is to buy our own land, where we can build houses ... like our own main house, a house for Cal and Shila and the girls, a house for Kaedyn when he's older ...  but we know that Nathan and Noah are going to be with us for a long time (forever) and our thought (or mine anyway) is if we do this, Cal & Kaedyn can both be by their brothers if anything should happen to DB and I ...    I worry about that ...

3;  I would like to change my health, but no matter my wanting that to change ..... odds are it never will because this shit doesn't just go away... I'm not sure...  not sure .... actually....nah.  I really don't know what to say... the one thing I want to say ..... I would love to see some of my husbands dreams come true...

JULY 25th : Explore & A Tiny Step Towards Your Dream

EXPLORE

Prompt #1 for today is ...... explore.  Lately, I don't get to explore much.  I get to explore my bed.  I explore my thoughts and this story I'm writing....  but exploring Washington.... well, that goes in waves.

I don't get out to do it much but I love to explore because I love to take pictures.  When I explode, my husband says, I see things that no one else can seem to and I pull out these amazing pictures ... sometimes out of the simplest things.   Like barbed wire at the end of a post .... I don't see the barbed wire bunched up at the end of the line....  I see the barbed wire twisted up to form a heart....

So yeah.... photography makes me so happy.  I edit photos, and I think ... damn that's a GOOD shot.  And then, I get down on myself about it.  Sometimes.

So yeah, it's pretty awesome.  Next thing on my adventure list....  visit a waterfall.

A TINY STEP TOWARDS YOUR DREAM

Writing.......

Need I say more?
