13 days old - We are soooooooooo excited!!!  Mercy's eyes are open all the way and Max's are ALMOST open!!!!

Late today I realized that Mercy is sick.  I don't know what has happened for her to take a turn for the worse, or what is going on - but she is sick.  She's colder, she's limper, she's not responding the way she should.   We're doing everything we can to save her.  She already has someone who loves her and wants to maker her their furry baby ....

Now is about the time I realized she was sick.....

Trying everything to save her.  I was up all night giving her feedings and trying to get her to nurse, making sure she was warm.... but she just got worse and worse..

2 WEEKS OLD

MERCY ....... RIP ........... 2 weeks old.

Poor Max :(   I had passed the point where I was worried that one of the puppies wouldn't make it.   Max is all alone now.

Doggie Birth Story

Marnie has a boyfriend, his name is T-Bear.

She lubs him a lot.  Well ..... Marnie and T-Bear did the naughty ...  and we figured out a couple days ago she was definitely in the Momma-way.

I made a video a couple days ago of the puppies moving ...

I had the feeling last night that she was going to go into labor soon.  She was just acting weird.  I have to say, she is our baby.  If Dennis or I call her - she usually comes a running ... and that's if she's not already trying to crawl up your behind ...  her favorite place to be is on your lap, under my laptop, rolled up in one of our blankets... etc.  She likes to be a warm puppy so she likes to go in warm places.

So when she doesn't come - when you call her - it's a sign something is up....

So last time I'm calling and calling and calling her... and she's not coming.  So I ask Calahan to look under my bed for her because that seems to be where she's going to hide ...  so I knew she was going to have the pups under my bed - most likely.  But I had a couple of different places for her ....  still, figured that's what she had decided she was going to do.

So ...  Cal finds her under our bed, and I ask him to pull her out.

Just have this feeling she's going to pop.

So I stayed up late last night.  Nathan wasn't feeling well, he was up until 2am...  and when I finally decided to go to sleep, after 2am ...  Marnie was curled up in my back - between Dennis and I - which is normal for her.

So I think....  maybe she's not going to pop after all.

When I wake up at 8:30 am ...  Kaedyn is between Dennis and I, Nathan is between my legs, Dennis is sawing logs, and... I notice Autumn is on the corner of our bed looking down at the floor.

Odd...  I think ....

So I manuver kids, and I look, and on the floor where Autumn is looking is her daughter Mady-Mady-Boo-Boo....   Boo is looking under the bed....

Odd... I think....

So I go use the potty, come back in my room....

Autumn is still sitting on the corner of the bed, and Mady is still on the floor looking under the bed.  Like there is something interesting going on.

Odd ... I think........ So I call Marnie a few times, no sign of her....

So I shake Dennis awake and  I say .... "The cats are completely acting weird, I think Marnie is under our bed and I think the Pups came"

So he sits up, grabs the flashlight and looks.  "We have puppies" he says...

So I'm like, "can you hand them to me?"

So he pulls out two puppies and then a Marnie.   First I put them in the basket I had set up for her, and then I realized that with the A/C in our room on - it's too holey ...  and airy ...  So I had Cal get a box and I put the blankets in there and one to cover up the box.

I emailed Lisa - T-Bear's human and let her know ...

She calls shortly after and is giving me a lot of tips on what to watch for and what to do - to make things easier for Marnie.   She told me to make sure we take food and water to her, because she most likely won't leave the box - period - for a few days.

I sent her pictures of the puppies, and have a few times through the morning ...   So with Lisa's help, we sex them as a boy and a girl.  (And I looked up, and double checked, we definitely have a boy and a girl.)   We also saw the girl has a stubby tail, instead of a long one.  It's odd.

I honestly said "Are you sure Marnie didn't eat her tail off thinking it was the cord"  ...  LOL...  I knew it wasn't the case, but .... it's just so odd to me.

I know people wrap rubber bands and crap around dogs tails to stub them off and that sickens me.  So I think it's bugging me so much because I don't want people thinking that I did this to her ...  because I didn't.

I think that's why it's bugging me.

First I put them in a basket - covered up ... and it wasn't working out real well because of the holes in the basket and our room is air conditioned, I can't put her in another room because she'll come right back.

So then I put her in a box ... and that worked out just fine.
