DRAW/PAINT SOMETHING

I just recently started to draw and paint and all that.  Well..... I can't say that ...  back when Cal was a baby I painted my own Christmas ornaments.  I did this for a few years, I'd go pick them up at Micheal's (Crafts) and I'd go home and paint them.  When I was pregnant with Kaedyn, I bought
letters spelling their names to put on their nursery walls ....

Of course I drew on Nathan's feed bags ... here are a couple random examples... LOL ....

I try to do things - I do not like my drawing skill HOWEVER I am really just starting ...  I actually did these earlier today ....

I recently found then "Family" and "Love" at Goodwill and I got them....  I decided to paint them (they had originally been black, someone painted them white, I wanted them colorful ....

After I did several coats of paint, I took a black marker and outlined it to see if it would make it pop more, and it did ....

And this one....  Family and the ILY at the end....  ILY = I LOVE YOU .... so the ILY I did in glow in the dark paint....

Then I wanted to try my hand at a few paintings.  I wanted to do a tree, with ten birds on it ... Cal, his girlfriend, and the two girls, and then DB & I, Noah, Nathan, Kaedyn and DB's daughter....

So when I was doing the background of the first canvas, I screwed up and made it too dark.  I didn't like it....  not for the tree....  so I sat there for a moment and ... thought....   (this is the background below and the start of what I figured out)

The canvas I "screwed up" on ended up being the Moon & Stars one...  and then I did another painting with this purple background (which frankly I loved so much I could have just left it as that purple background) ....  and I did the tree, with the birds ...

Anyone that knows me well knows I adore Moon & Star stuff so this was pretty easy choice to do this on the fly.  The background is pretty awesome too.  I'm not 100% happy with the black accents of the clouds, but this is my 2nd painting EVER (well except when I was a kid)

"FIREFLIES" by ME!

The tree is whimsical, I like whimsical.  The swing with the girl and that cat, I added.  If it be me when I was little, Elly says it's her.  But the green and yellow tiny dots around the lower part of the tree.... those are supposed to be (represent) fireflies.  There is a jar on the ground with some fireflies in it.

ACTIONS THAT YOU ADMIRE

First Respondents ....  Paramedics, Firefighters, Cops.....  they are the thankless ... they usually have a very significant story as to why they do what they do ...  yes there have been instances of bad seeds in the system, yes there have been mistakes, but why is the "WHOLE" blamed? 

All three departments put their lives at rick to help others.  That's what it comes down to.   They risk not going home every time they go to work.

Tulips

This popped up on Facebook ......

These are the directions.......

Grow Indoor Tulips . . . Step 1 - Fill a glass container about 1/3 of the way with glass marbles or decorative rocks. Clear glass will enable you to watch the roots develop . . . Step 2 - Set the tulip bulb on top of the marbles or stones; pointed end UP. Add a few more marbles or rocks so that the tulip bulb is surrounded but not covered (think support). . .Step 3 - Pour fresh water into the container. The water shouldn't touch the bulb, but it should be very close, so that the roots will grow in.

And so I really wanted to do this.  Lilac, Tulips and Hydrangea are my favorite flowers.

So I got some bulbs that were already opening .....

Planting & Clairah!

I feel like crap today.  But I really want/need to spend some time with the family - while NOT being in my bed.  So I'm gonna push myself today.  And tomorrow..... my baby turns 14.  So yeah, I have to push myself tomorrow too.

This little sweetie...  she's checking out that baby doll bottle....  wondering why the heck she's not getting anything out of it...

So Kaedyn did a planter out of a 2-liter bottle in Scouts one night... and I had seen it on PINTEREST too...  but I thought it was awesome...  So we did it with 1.5 liters too.   So some were smaller - some were bigger.  I found the 2 liters were a lot easier to work with.

So - 2 liter bottle, the pic of the cleaned out de-labeled bottles.  You cut the bottles in half.   You flip the top part of the bottle and you put it upside down in the bottom half.   So the neck is pointed to the bottom of the bottle. Then take a couple strips of felt cloth and put it in the bottom (or the neck of the bottle that's upside down)  This way, you can water the plants, and you make sure there is water in the bottom half, it acts as a "self waterier" ...

So I did some with each of the younger kids individually ....  Kaedyn was really excited to do it, so he was begging to be first.  I kinda - actually - did Kaedyn and Clairah at the same time...

Then I worked with Nathan...

Here are all the planters we did - we had more, and plenty of seeds, but we ran out of soil.

We have them sitting in our front window - but on warmer days I'm going to put them out on our front patio.

But Clairah wanted her "Doc Mobile" ... from Doc McStuffins...  and so her and Kaedyn were playing with it, mostly, and Nathan joined in.  They started treating their various stuffed animals (they did this for hours!) ...

I hadn't gotten any FULL family photos since Elly was born.  So I wanted to get some - so I took some quick shots.  I want to take them out to a park and get some good GOOD photos of them all.

Then I had to go get back in bed - the pain was just suck-ass.  So Clairah came in to keep me company and she ate dinner with me, and Elly was hanging out with Shila too...  and eventually everyone in the family worked their way into the room at some point.  So I just kept snapping pictures.

Finally meds were given and kids started dropping like flies.  Kaedyn sleeping with Marshmellow ...  Mellow is his buddy.  I like how Mellow gets to use the pillow and Kaedyn is all pushed down...

Nathan doesn't like pillows, he likes to use his stuffies....

And that was today......  and boy o' boy was it a day.
