If I Die Young ... The Band Perry (Video & Lyrics)

This song hit me right in the gut, and I couldn't help but start crying....  It's such a beautiful, lovely song that I wanted to share it.  It may hit you in the gut too, just a warning....  but it's definitely worth the listen....

If I die young bury me in satin
Lay me down on a bed of roses
Sink me in the river at dawn
Send me away with the words of a love song
oh oh oh oh
Lord make me a rainbow, I’ll shine down on my mother
She'll know I’m safe with you when she stands under my colors, oh and
Life ain't always what you think it ought to be, no
Ain't even grey, but she buries her baby
The sharp knife of a short life, well
I’ve had just enough time
If I die young bury me in satin
Lay me down on a bed of roses
Sink me in the river at dawn
Send me away with the words of a love song
The sharp knife of a short life, well
I’ve had just enough time
And I’ll be wearing white when I come into your kingdom
I’m as green as the ring on my little cold finger
I’ve never known the lovin' of a man
But it sure felt nice when he was holding my hand
There’s a boy here in town says he’ll love me forever
Who would have thought forever could be severed by
The sharp knife of a short life, well
I’ve had just enough time
So put on your best boys and I’ll wear my pearls
What I never did is done
A penny for my thoughts, oh no I’ll sell them for a dollar
They're worth so much more after I’m a goner
And maybe then you’ll hear the words I been singin’
Funny when you're dead how people start listenin’
If I die young bury me in satin
Lay me down on a bed of roses
Sink me in the river at dawn
Send me away with the words of a love song
oh oh
The ballad of a dove
Go with peace and love
Gather up your tears, keep ‘em in your pocket
Save them for a time when your really gonna need 'em oh
The sharp knife of a short life, well
I’ve had just enough time
So put on your best boys and I’ll wear my pearls

New Home... and the Starfish...

It's been a few days since I last blogged ... so much has been going on .... mainly ....  {UNPACKING} which is a THORN in my BUTT!

So let me show you our view at our new place.... the obstructed but still beautiful view of the mountains from our yard...

We are right on the water...
The veiw from the inside (my desk is right under that first window by the patio, and Dennis' desk is right next to mine under the second window)

Lovely isn't it?

I will take show some more pictures of our place once we get settled, I am still unpacking and unpacking some more!!

The family (other then me) have seen a Sea Lion, seen an Eagle chasing a Seagull, then the Seagull turn around and chase the Eagle... and then a Hawk got into the mixture... and we found a Starfish ... we the guys thought it was dead (It didn't move for about a day), so Cal got it and they brought it up and were going to dry it out, but low and behold, I went to take some pictures, and it was ALIVE!!  Yep... so they promptly took it back down into the water.  Here are our Starfish pictures!
It is attached to some rocks, including one BIG one,...
That middle blob is a rock that it's eating stuff off of.
We showed it to Nathan and he SCREAMED, covered his eyes and didn't want to even look at it.. lol...  Noah however was very interested, and even watched Daddy put it back in the water...
Home again home again jiggity jig...
yeah, I don't know how quickly Starfish move, but that one took off.  Said the heck with these people... cuz an hour later it was gone...

The Past Month... pt 5: Mountains, Lemon Wedge & Hospitals...

The views from the simplest places are AMAZING here... there are mountains all around us, and water .. it's literally breathtaking...   these, for example, were taken from the hospital parking lot!
The hospital, you ask?  Why yes... the hospital....  but we'll get to that in a minute.

First, Daddy was in the bedroom we have at my Mom's... shared by Dennis & I, and the two babies...  anyway, he was at the desk (next to Kaedyn's crib) doing his homework and Kaedyn was being squirrely, not going to sleep..  well I come to bed, and he tells me "Kaedyn got the fruit wedges, there is sugar and wedges all over" I'm thinking GREAT...   Daddy tends to be a little... um... one track minded and probably didn't even notice they were on the desk in Kaedyn's reach until it was way to late.  So the following morning I picked Kaedyn up from his crib, got Nathan - we trotted into the bathroom to have a bath and low and behold...  this is what I found...... IN HIS HAIR...
Yeah I wasn't real happy about the lemon wedge being in his hair either!  AT ALL...  poor kid... but I did manage to get it out without having to chop it (but I did cut his hair a few days ago and now he looks a little like an Oompa Loompa ... )  ...

So what about the hospital ... yeah yeah...  I'll tell ya now.

We all started getting sick leaving WI and traveling.  The babies were coughing, Cal was complaining of headaches and not feeling well, being sore, and just sick (and he was) ... Noah wasn't feeling the best, and Nathan got sick ... they were amazing in the car, I can't complain, but it wasn't the funnest trip ever (course not, we were moving and locked out of the truck and only had the clothes on our back, yeah.. read back..) ... so anyway...  we get here and the babies just seem to get worse and worse.  Nathan's ear is draining and it smells SOOOOOOOOO FOUL...  I tried some home remedy things, he didn't have a fever, it was just draining and draining and gross.  Then Kaedyn started up periodically with his croupy cough.  Yep... horrible.  I gave up... took them in ...
Neither of them were happy.   They suctioned out Nathan's ear and they gave him antibiotics to sterilize his ear.  Kaedyn had to have x-rays, but just basically had the viral croup.  Not a problem, right?  Wrong...  For some reason Kaedyn's insurance was coming up but not Nathan's.  Apparently Disability in WI isn't releasing him until June 1st so he's not covered under WA until then.  UGH... so I ended up paying for his prescription out of pocket.  NOT FUN!  (Yes I know, deal with it, I did!) ...
So then, Kaedyn got worse.  We had to take him in again.  AGAIN, a few days later.  He was running a 103/104 .. (close to 105!) temp!  So what now?  Croup (dur!), Ear Infection (first one!) and the start of Pneumonia!

I started to do nebulizers on both babies because of their asthma and the coughing spasms they were having.  I can never get a picture of Kaedyn because he acts like I'm trying to kill him by putting the mask on him (or anything of the sort) ... Kaedyn is not fun to deal with his asthma.  It's a Crocodile Death Roll Battle... no kidding... But here is Nathan.. (he's trying not to cry, and be brave)

So after Kaedyn started to feel better, Nathan started to run a low temp.. (99's 100's) ... and broke out in this full body viral rash (which I did end up taking him back in for because we wanted to make sure he hadn't developed a sudden allergy to the meds)
He was still happier... and boy he is soooooo much happier here!  And Kaedyn's eczema has pretty much cleared up!!

The Past Month .. part 7: The Park & Gardening

So the last thing I'm going to share from May (in the beginning of June) is the day we went to the park and then went gardening in Nana's garden!

Ashley and I took the three littlest ones to the park by the house we're moving into (It's literally right down the block)
(Noah wouldn't stop talking - LOL)
Kaedyn couldn't get up the rock wall and it was making him SO FRUSTRATED!!!

Then we went back to Nana's and started to play in her garden.  Nathan was all ready to investigate!

We found this awesome snail we named Harvey Snaily (Snaily was last name via Noah)
It might sound stupid, but none of us had ever seen or held a snail before that we found...
Course I wouldn't have touched him had I not had gloves on... ewww... slimy!! LOL...  I did, after a lot of talking, manage to get Noah to hold it...
Side view....  ever wonder what the underside of a snail looked like, we did... (wondered that is) so we flipped him over..
Then we put him down on some moss at the bottom of a tree in the garden, and eventually he climbed the tree...
Calahan picked up a worm... lol..
Nathan found a pinwheel in our gardening bag and just wanted it to "go" .. lol..  when it wouldn't go for him, he asked me...
Kaedyn and Cal in the garden...
Kaedyn fell over on his back and just laid there, like a turtle on his back, it was funny...
He got up and was playing with the ball, then decided he wanted to drive the wheel barrow ...
