Looking back on Week 3

So here is to Week 3 of 52 being DONE in 2018!!

Given that I am not constantly turning HERE to get my blogging done 100% of the time....  I at LEAST want to record what happened during each day, at least a little bit.  And it helps me reflect on the week, the days, the month .... whatever.  It will also help me remember what happened each day because ...I am 41 and I feel like my brain is turning to mush already.  I hope and pray it's just "Fibro Fog" and not something worse.

So ... I have already shared the first two weeks of the calendar ...  but I decided that I'm going to start doing this a little bit different ... if I get the umph to go back and do it on the other two weeks, I will, but I'm going to look onward ...

I usually record how I sleep because I am in a major insomnia crap'o'la life.... and so I figured I need to start recording it ... I also need to start recording my fasting blood sugar at the very least....  oye...  but I have severe cotton mouth and I drink all night... so ... I don't know what to do really.

So ... I will be sharing one photo that I took during the day (at least one) and then the jist of what happened in my ho-hum boring ass life... LOL ....

Monday - Martin Luther King Jr. Day ....

Kaedyn started running a temp the day before....  his temp got up to over 103 though.... I ended up rescheduling Noah's Orthodontist and my Wound Care appointment because of it.  I ended up sleeping most of the day...  I went to sleep around 5am and slept until 5pm minus being up for about an hour.  I just wasn't feeling well.  (there was no school) - I am certain Bubba has strep...

Tuesday:

Nate and Bubba were home from school. We thought Nathan was catching the strep that I am certain Bubba has.  We kept him home just incase.  I think the highest temp I saw at this point was 102.   He threw up a little bit.

I finished CHAPTER FOUR (of Dark Woods)!!!  YAY!!!!!!!!!!

Rescheduled DB's CPAP appt for tomorrow....

MOVIE WATCHED: Past Malice: An Emma Fielding Mystery.
                                  & Frozen In Love

PET BATTLE WEEK STARTED!

Wednesday:

Bubba had an appt with Dr. V at 11:30 - Rapid Strep Test came back POSITIVE ...

......... can someone just hand me my medical degree please???

DB had to go to his CPAP appointment he had moved to today (at 1:30)

Bubba is still running a temp.  Nathan had a migraine.  They were both home, AGAIN....

I slept from about 3am to 9am....

It's X-FILES NIGHT!!!!!!

Shila had an appt where her therapist came and got her and got her started with some help to maybe get some training for a job.

I pet battled a lot ....

Finally got Bubba into the DR...  I am checking him in and I look over... and Nana and Bubba are almost identical... lol

Thursday:

Slept from 7am to 4pm ...

Shila appt w/Lawyer (new one) at 10:40am...  Nana took her...

Bubba is feeling better

All the kids are home (even Noah)....  Nathan is having migraine issues...

I am clearly watching too many murder shows ...  from a photography stand-point...  I thought this was cool (pic of my TV)

Friday:

Slept from 2am to 3am and then was up until 5am, back to sleep until 9am....

I woke up not feeling well - I've had this ongoing sinus infection since November 11th.  Lately I'm losing my voice now too ...  and I have this horrible smell in my nose from the infection.  I *NEED* to get in and get checked out again ... since, I thought I had a doctors appt on this day with DB but I didn't - it was just him.

Nathan woke up at 4am and came in our room and woke me up.  He's got 102 temp and complaining about a headache & sore throat.

Took him to Dr. V  - he has strep also...

TACO BAR for dinner!

Saturday:

Slept from 1am to 11am - up from 4am to 5am because of Nate waking up

Pet Battled the day away ....

Not feeling well - ended up being in bed all day and not at my desk.

Sunday:

I fell asleep around 6:40am to about 11:30am  - napped from about 3 to 4pm....

Cal started running a fever - he's gonna have strep now too...

DB went to the bar for the game....  Vikings Choked .... ::: sigh ::::

It's been a long week....

That is an actual picture of me.....  the cat.... with this week ... the dog...

So ....... last Sunday (or was it Saturday?) .. Kaedyn started running a fever.  He was HOT.  His main complains were headaches and hit throat hurt a lot.

Fever continued, we managed it always keep it at bay and manage his pain until we could get him into the doctor on Wednesday.   Sure enough, what I thought ...  strep throat.  He tested positive on the rapid test.

Worry turns to Nathan.  Sickness can turn on him so quickly. I told Kaedyn, on our way home, not to lick Nathan and don't let Nathan lick him.

Note: Nathan has a fun life skill of licking everything he shouldn't.  It's a sensory thing attached to his Autism.  It's gotten better.

Fast forward to us getting home, I'm walking in the hall and from their room I hear "Nathan, you ca't lick me, and I can't lick you. Okay?"

::: smh :::

Two minutes later I hear .... "Nathan STOP LICKING ME!"

::: head meet desk :::

Super early Friday at about 4 AM Nathan comes in our room and he wakes me up crying.  Why?  He has a really bad headache and his throat hurts really bad.

::: fuck my life ::::

We got him in to the DR on Friday, thankfully .... so they are both on antibiotics.  Luckily no one else has gotten it .... (YET?) ...  but this whole week was Tylenol, Ibuprofen, taking temperatures, checking heart rates (pulse ox) ... cold wash clothes, puke buckets, lack of eating, them sleeping in my bed - on my side of the bed, leaving me no where to sleep - so I stay awake as long as I can to watch over them.... etc and so on...

It has been a week.

Luckily, they both seem to be on the up swing.

Week Two of 2018 is D.O.N.E.

Week two of January .... of 2018 .... is in the books and done!!

Wooohooo!!

I write really slow.  Like, I go back in that chapter and reread and rewrite, and back to the previous chapters to make changes, put in more information, It's a back and forth.  Did I get this right?  Oh I have to go at this to that scene in chapter whatever ...

It's a process. I may have a scene that is going to be in a later chapter, and so I gotta write that while it's in my head.

But I've been on a roll.  Chapter 3 took me about a week, and Chapter 4 just a couple days - I started it on Saturday and at this time Monday night, I might add one more scene, I haven't decided yet, so I'm just kinda sitting on it and staring at the last thing I wrote.

I watched two Hallmark movies yesterday  Love on the Slopes and Last Scene Alive: An Aurora Teagarden Mystery ... both were new movies last weekend, and I missed them - so I'm really glad I could catch them when they replayed. I am a slight addict to Hallmark Mysteries & Movies channel movies. Slightly addicted.

So Elly came home from her visit with her Daddy today ...  She always has to go through this decompressing from visiting her Dad.  But there is a time frame that she only wants Mommy.

But I haven't been feeling well, Bubba certainly isn't feeling well .... I ended up sleeping all day.  Bubba's fever read higher today than it did yesterday ...

But Momma thought like she smelled like wet dog so she ended up getting a mid-day bath and scrub down.  All her clothes got washed too.

So we don't want Elly by us sickies right now....   so poor girl is basically locked out of my room.  Bubba is camping back here so we can keep an eye on him.
That was his high spike for a little while....

The pulse ox after the 102 temp... and then......

I had him check his temp again, this was no more than fifteen minutes after the 102.4 temp....  so yeah, that high spike wasn't the "highest" for long....
Ended up getting him ibuprofen and then an hour later it was still up there (102.6 I think) .... and then he got a tylonel on board... a half hour after that he was down to 101 point something.... then a half hour after that it was 101.1 and then about 20 minutes later - finally down to 99.9....   Oye...

This is me..... in my "I don't give a shit" look ... sporting the "I didn't brush my hair" bun and my most comfortable shirt ... you don't see the PJ pants ...

But yeah, I didn't get to sleep until about 5am this morning or so ...  then I woke up around noon (totally after I was supposed to have an appointment with Wound Care, but I told DB before I went to sleep that he might want to re-schedule the appointments today because Bubba is really sick and we don't know yet if it's contagious or not.

Plus I feel like shit. I have had a sinus infection since November 11th ... I ddn't get antibiotics until mid-December ... I took all the nasty horse pills ... and my sinus infection got a bit better, and now it's getting worse again.  Not only did I not get any sleep last night but I ended up sleeping most of the day today.  I am sure I'll be up all night.   BUT the best part of today is the lack of a voice that I seem have.  It's wonderful.

Actually - the best part of today was talking on the phone with Missy and me going "Oh look it's almost 60 here right now" it was 59 degrees on the app I was looking at.  She goes "You suck" to me and in the background, I hear her husband go "WHAT?" ....  Bwahahahahahahahahhahahahah ... epic.  She goes "Not you! Nissa!" but he didn't believe her.  Bwahahahahahahahahah ....  so then I did the whole "Alexa, what is the weather in..." her town Wisconsin.  Alexa says "It's 10 degrees" and whatever other part to the weather report she shared and I was laughing so hard I was probably busting open some internal organs.  Then I had Alexa say our weather and she is all "The weather in...." our town Washington "Is 60 degrees and sunny ...."  BWAHAHAHAHHAHAHA ... I was dying.  just...... DYING ...

So that pretty much sums up my day.

The Sickness is REAL....

SO, my Monkey Bubba has been acting abnormal tonight.  Normally he's bouncing off the walls with energy and talking everyone's ear off....

Not so much today though....  today he's just not himself, and most of the day today he spent laying in my bed.

At one point I looked at him, and just thought...  he's running a fever.  So I motioned to him to sit up so I could feel his forehead.  Sure enough he was pretty hot.  Shoved a thermometer into his mouth and his temp was 101.6.  He said he had a headache and his throat hurt.  When he talked, it sounded like his throat was swollen because his voice didn't sound the same.

Probably end up taking him into the doctor tomorrow (Monday) to get him checked out.  I think he has strep throat, but worried it might be the flu.  :/

Woes of Insomnia ...

The most fickle beast I know ......  goes by one name, and one name only.  I'm sitting here yawning at my computer desk, I'm about to crack open my writing software and start working on Chapter 3 again...  I haven't pulled up Chapter 3 in a couple of days, which is not what I had planned this week.  I fell like I did nothing today....  but sleep... because I can't sleep at night, but I don't get exhausted until 4 or 5 AM ... and then I crash.   I'm sitting here yawning every couple of minutes and yet..... I've already been to bed, already tried the whole going to sleep thing...  I've taken my meds, done my insulin ... but I seriously think I am in need of sleep meds...  like, legit cuz....  I have such a hard time turning things around.

There are days where I seriously try so hard to just stay awake all day, and I do.... and it's so I'll go to sleep at a reasonable time...  and it never happens.  For the longest time I was good, I was going to sleep before 1AM - which for me is like going to bed at 9PM... and there were nights I would end up falling asleep at like 7 or 8 PM ... because my body is so eff'd up...

So literally, I stay up, for over 24 hours...  and 10 or 11 PM hits, and you know what happens?  I get a who needs to sleep wind and I'm up all night......

FML ... I just want to sleep ...

That is an actual picture of me......

In addition ...  X-Files was AMAZING tonight.... .

 I loved it..... loooooooooved it!!

DB and I also watched an episode of Catfish tonight ...  new episode tonight ... I think it was Alyssa & Tyler?  I know Tyler is right ... anyway ... the poor kid Tyler kinda reminded me of Noah.  This is gonna probably come off wrong, but when he first showed up in person, I wondered if he had Downs, he had a bit of the face features I'm used to seeing.... and before freaking out on me (if you don't know) I have a Trisomy child as well ... Noah is my Mosaic Trisomy 16 child.  Tyler seemed rather awkward, not comfortable in social situations, etc and so on.  I think I figured out that he doesn't have Downs, so then I wondered if he is somewhere on the spectrum... because Noah has Aspergers ... but regardless, the kid reminded me of Noah... and at the time only 3 years older than Noah (Tyler was 19, Noah will be 16 in a few weeks) ...  so it kinda broke my heart.

In situations like that, where it's very clear that the kid or person isn't comfortable being who they are because it seems or feels to them like no one accepts them, and just want to feel like someone likes them for who they are and not what's on the outside, it kinda breaks my heart.  It really does.

Week One of January .... D.O.N.E.

So I started this thing .... back several months ago .... and it's been something that I've doing ... because Fibro brain has become an even more real thing ...

And I've really enjoyed it

So I have a calendar that I do daily notes in of stuff I've done...  or appts or course, and other things, and then things I've accomplished ....   I love it.

This is week one of January ....

So yeah.......  I think I'm going to make this a thing..... sharing the previous week on Monday's ...

I got a Wild Hair ...

Okay .... not all of it.  Just...  a few things.... like...  my desk.. my desk chair....  my shelves, other shelves, more shelves....  that's all.

I got my bathroom done!!  Finally organized ... ya know, from when we moved in ... in September.... YAY!

Like seriously though...  probably the ONLY time anyone will ever see my bathroom... lol...

Then I spent the rest of the day picking up my room, moving my big book shelf ooooooover over over in my room to make room for my desk, and then moved a shelf I had in the boys room that I had in there for their clothes, which wasn't working - and replace that with a different shelf...

There are a lot of ideas ...

Lots.

But mostly I'm excited to have my workspace ...

YAY......

So by the end of today, the desk and chair got moved, but I still have a HORRIBLY high amount of work to do, but I'll get it done.  Might take me a week between everything else and life and writing but I'm going to do it......  DAMN IT - IT WILL BE DONE ....

Or I'll cry ....

....... a big ol' stinky ugly cry ....

Happy Birthday Calahan!!

22 years ago I was given the best gift of my life. I was handed a new, innocent, helpless little life to love and adore and raise. He was 8lbs 7oz of screaming perfection. I remember how I thought he had the longest fingers, and the most amazing big inquisitive eyes taking every little thing in. I might have wanted a girl but there was just love. I was instantly and utterly in love with this tiny wiggly boy who looked at me and I was his whole world. His whole world! I am very proud of the man he's become. I'm proud of the way he treats women, and although he still has a lot to learn and do in his life, Dennis and I are proud of the young man he has become. He is respectful, kind, polite, compassionate, and amusing. I was 18 years old when I got pregnant, and 19 when I had him... and as much as I was his whole world ... he was my whole world too. I love you Calahan Joseph ... thank you for making me a Mom.

No sooner did the clock strike midnight, and I posted that....  when Cal and I got in one of those really bad parent/child fights....

It was not the note that I wanted to start his birthday on....

And I literally went to my room, with him being mad in his, and I wanted to cry.  Sometimes, you just have to take a stand as a parent and you have to stick to it...  he shocked, he hurt me, and I hurt him... probably shocked him too.  And for once, I didn't take an apology right away.  Didn't talk about it, didn't make it better before bed, just didn't...  and that sucked,  HIGHLY sucked.

But by morning, things were better, apologizes were made and accepted, explanations were given, and laughter was had.

But it was rough...

22 Years of this kid....

He wanted Garlic Chicken for dinner, so that's what we had.

We tried making a Mt. Dew cake for him...  it was really good, but it fell apart.  LOL ... so Shila ended up making him some brownies ....
