Busy is as Busy does?

Inauguration Day.....

Today was a day, there may have been a day where I would have said positive and/or negative and stated my opinion, but honestly - things I have seen today on my newsfeed have literally made me sick, so I stopped looking.  NOTHING is going to come from acting like jackasses and causing damage and/or harm to people and/or their businesses that had nothing to do with anything that these people are "protesting" ... all i can do is shake my head.  The fact is, he is our President - even if he isn't "your" President, he is.  There are things I do not agree with, but all we can do is sit back and wait for him to either prove himself or prove he needs to not be in office.  I just don't see what all this negativeness is going to solve. I didn't watch. I had no interest in watching, but not because of who it is, because I am not a huge politic person.  We're supposed to be making this world we live in better - the way some people are acting is so far from making the planet better that it's actually causing things to be worse.

The same type of things happened with Obama! I wasn't a fan to begin with.  But I did think he did a good job and I did like to see the type of person he is come out from beyond the title.  I had friends who were calling him the anti-christ and how he would single-handedly bring on another war or worse.  That did not happen.  People believed one hundred percent that he was going to be the end of the world, and we're all still here.

I finished my book just a few minutes after midnight while in the ER with DB.  We ended up getting home around 1:30 AM, he does have the flu, the actual flu, just like I thought. 2 books out of 26 now!  (I'm really hoping to hit 50, but we'll see - I figured 26 was realistic.)

Will be starting this one in the next few days.  I need to decompress from one book before starting another really ....  I'm hoping I can get into this series.  I'm not sure yet, I'm having a hard time seeing myself doing so - but I hope it draws me in like she's good at doing.

I ended up being up until about 3AM - and then I slept until just after 8AM.  I got Cal up, asked him to go out and get the van cleaned out real quick, got the boys and DB up.  I got the boys dressed, got them all out the door.

Today - despite my letting her know that DB has the flu, like the actual influenza, get the shot to protect against, flu, DB was supposed to go give a ride to my cousin and her girls to an appointment. So DB dropped the Littles off for the bus, and then headed to her place.  Shortly after he left, I messaged her and said he was on his way, that he wasn't going to class, and he'd take her to the appt and back home.  So she messaged me back and said her MIL was there.  I was like - wait a minute!  Your MIL who has a car, and my husband with the flu who should be in bed, is going to come get you, expose your whole family to the flu?  So I said "Wait! Your MIL who has a car? Why can't she take you instead of exposing anyone to the flu."  She was like "She came to help me with the girls today. It's fine."  And I was like "What's fine?"  So she doesn't reply to me for awhile.  And then I get a message from DB saying "She sent me home" ...  I was like, What the EVER loving FUCK! We don't have a lot of gas, so it just felt like such a waste of gas.  She could have told me "hey my MIL is here, I don't need DB" at any time during the morning - and I have no idea it wasn't thought of until (so it seemed) I said something.  Because originally it sounded like she was letting me know her MIL was going with to help with the girls.  It was just a shake my head moment ...  slap my head moment.

I got laundry folded and waited for my flu ridden hubby to come home to die and infect me more...

Jax waited too....

He's so handsome.

I went with to go pick up the boys.  Felt like utter crap.  But I promised DB I'd go with because neither of us were feeling well.  Although I am pretty sure I didn't say much of anything ... just cuz I felt like crap.  We stopped at the pharmacy to get DB's Tamiflu - while we were there, Nathan saw 7-Eleven and started crying he was thirsty and wanted a slurpy...  so we told him if he behaved, that he and Bubba could get one.  And so we got them one.

He's so silly.

My blackie little Alyvia

Mr. Marshmellow

Nate and Bubba were playing together for the most part today after school.... excited to have the next two days off....

Jaxson loves the boys, and he tolerates a lot (A LOT) from Nathan ...

And then - after I got meds done and the room was shut for the night (around 7pm) ... and the boys were going to sleep, I ended up crashing from 7 to about 10:30 ...  woke up, did my insulin shots and took my meds.  Oye.

I can feel the sick coming...   I can FEEL it.  It's not going to be pretty.  It's not going to be fun.

Book Worm ....

I couldn't sleep last night/this morning.  After I set up my blog (didn't finish it) I grabbed my book that I was reading and between the book and the insomnia - I was up until 6am reading.  Eeps!

I have about a hundred pages left though.

This ..... ^^^^ is the truth.  Absolute truth.  OMG I would die for rolling ladders!  Ha ha ha ha ...

I ended up reading all night, and then I slept from then to 4pm.  I woke up, and it was 4pm.  I was like.........

But I also know this isn't normal, usually I'd get a couple hours of sleep and be good.  But ...  I know I'm starting to get the flu.  I know that's what DB has.  Ugh...

So .... we had dinner, got the boys in bed, and then I was taking DB into the ER.  He got the chills really really bad, it scared him, he was panicking.  I got him calmed down but he still wanted to go in.  I told him it was pointless.  But it was what it was, and if he wanted to go in I'd go with him - and I did.

We got there, we were in the waiting room a little over an hour.  I worked on polishing the book I finished last year.  I needed a break.  I have to go back, do some editing, and add a bunch of stuff.

Got called back... the nurse was like "I'm so glad you guys are technology inclined because the room you are going to has no TV" ... well... thank you.   I forgot my headphones at home.

I ended up reading the rest of my book though.

Regardless....  we had to wait for Xray and Labs to be done....  I'm tired as hell (still) and not feeling well.  My poor hubby is miserable though :/

Book #2 and more ER...

Today was a lazy hazy rainzy Sundayz ...  so much so that you can't see out the bedroom window.

Today is the first "Day 3" of this crappy "Clear Liquid" diet shit ....  to "give my gut a rest" for this effing Pancreatitis.  Pain hasn't gotten much better though.  But I have to eat something, so I totally cheated at about 10pm.   I'm sorry - I just couldn't take it anymore.  It was pretty much a full three days.  I didn't get out of bed much, not much energy.  So between sleeping and watching the kids do ........ nothing....  I read.

Nathan is laughing - I LOVE getting pictures of him laughing.  Kaedyn was playing a lot today with his Shopkins and whatever was floating his boat. Nathan just basically lost his little Autistic self into YouTube for most of the day.  When his tablet was out of battery he took over my laptop, and that happened pretty early in the day.  So I just read and read and read.

Do you see this shit???  He's eating TOAST .... TOAST right by me!  I get Jello .... and when I get Jello the boys are on me like .... "HEY, I want some"  ... ::: slaps head ::: and no matter how much I say "It's all Mommy gets to eat" they don't care the little bottom-less-pit-monsters ...

Kaedyn was telling me stories all day
And then THIS happened....... ANOTHER trip to the ER.  Only this time, NOT FOR ME!!!   No, there was ham cooking all day long.  All day the house is smelling like ham and I have......... Jello.   Let me tell you how NOT FILLING Jello is when you smell HAM all day.  Ugh....

So a couple years ago my Mom got a new mandolin and she was using it one night, without the guard, and cut her finger really bad.  Yep.  DB gave her soooooo much crap for that.  SO MUCH.  "Mom don't you know what a guard is for?"  Yeah.

So last night, do you know what he does?  He uses the mandolin without the guard and what happens???

Well I'll spare you the gorey photos. Trust me, they are bloody.

Short story shorter, he gutted his thumb on it.  Took off a bunch of skin on the side of his thumb down to the nerves.  He ran upstairs to get his jacket and says "You're Mom is taking me" and rushes out.  Yeah, cuz I would have told him to suck it up and use paper towel and duct tape.  Well, maybe I would have been nicer and let him use Nathan's gauze and medical tape, but still ...  he told me he chopped off the tip of his finger, wasn't even close.  It was the side and he didn't need any stitches.

He messaged me this pic saying "I lost my thumb!"

And this one....  perpetual thumbs up!  He likes EVERYTHING!  (including the pain!)

And then - this happened.....  convo between my Mom and Me....  Mom is in the ER with DB and I'm at home....   (Keya btw is my "brother" Mom's dog that died earlier this year, he's buried in the yard) ...

So I started the next book today ...  THE LIAR by Nora Roberts.  Started in Goodreads on the 6th cuz that's when I finished the last one, but I really started it this morning.  I read TWO HUNDRED AND SIXTY EIGHT PAGES!!!  Yes, 268 pages in one day.  That's a pretty good record for me who can't seem to read a book in 2 months! LOL...  At least a record for recently.  I've read books in one day before, but that was more of the smaller young adult variety prior to children - which ... yeah... the oldest is 21 now.  It's been a LONG time.

Wanna take bets when I'll finish this one?    Yes it's good, everything she writes is good.

Book 1 of 26 is DONE ....

Today I finished book 1 of my 26 book goal I have to read this year.  I'm hoping to do more, but realistically, I'm lucky if I get one book read over a couple month span.  I started this book on November 16th, but didn't really start reading it until around New Years.  Then it sucked me in to the point I couldn't put it down really.

I really loooooove the characters in this book.  Love love love.

I was hoping to finish it a few days ago, but didn't fall into place like that.  Soooooooo ....  DONE!

The Collecter by Nora Roberts

When professional house-sitter Lila Emerson witnesses a murder/suicide from her current apartment-sitting job, life as she knows it takes a dramatic turn. Suddenly, the woman with no permanent ties finds herself almost wishing for one. . . .

Artist Ashton Archer knows his brother isn’t capable of violence—against himself or others. He recruits Lila, the only eyewitness, to help him uncover what happened. Ash longs to paint her as intensely as he hungers to touch her. But their investigation draws them into a rarified circle where priceless antiques are bought, sold, gambled away, and stolen, where what you possess is who you are, and where what you desire becomes a deadly obsession. . . .

Next up, The Liar (also by Nora)

Just Some Thoughts ...

This happened today ....

And I'm hoping to finish this.  Been reading it since November 16th - when I finished Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.  Really I've been reading it the last week or so.  Almost done.
