August 15 ~ Bremerton Waterfront

My Godmother came to visit from Two Harbors, MN (it's right there by Duluth, MN and Superior, WI) ... to the kids, she is Grandma Linda.   While she was here we went and did a lot of things.

Kaedyn, Noah & Nathan waiting for Nana and Grandma Linda to come pick us up...
First thing we did was go to the waterfront ........ The waterfront is gorgeous.  You can watch the ferries going in and out, there are some "dancing" water fountains.... and some other stuff.  You can see, in the background of the pictures, the U.S.S. Turner Joy ....

USS Turner Joy (DD-951) was one of 18 Forrest Sherman-class destroyers of the United States Navy. She was named for Admiral Charles Turner Joy USN (1895–1956). Commissioned in 1959, she spent her entire career in the Pacific. She participated extensively in the Vietnam War, and was one of the principal ships involved in the Gulf of Tonkin Incident.

Decommissioned in 1982, she is now a museum ship in Bremerton, Washington.

We had gone on the ship in 2005 when Calahan was 5 years old.  We haven't been back on since, but we will take all the boys on it one of these days.  It's eye opening what a Navy ship is like, and my Dad and Step-Dad are both Navy men.

Usually these fountains are set up to jump and skip the stones - but this day they were all just going .... later when we were walking back, they were doing their jumping and skipping...

My Mom thought it was funny that I warned the kids NOT TO GET WET and then told them to go play in the water so I could take some pictures.... LOLOLOL....

This is a Navy monument/statue showing how big a boat propeller is compared to people.....

When we moved here in 2010 we took a picture of all four boys there too ......

Yeah - two of them were in the stroller .. but... LOL...  Noah has grown!  That you can see...

By the Ferry Station, outside, there are these beautiful glass and stone structures ...

Next up is the Naval Museum ...
